Meaning of Surah Maun

Surah Maun is transcribed directly in “Little compassion, a small kindness, Almsgiving” from the Arabic word. Surah Al Maun (Makki Surah) is an enlightening revelation to a believer because it shows how closely our religious convictions and actions are interrelated.

Among the shortest chapters in the Holy Quran, Surah Al-Maun, also known as “Have You Seen”, is a sharp criticism against those who neglect the weak and the orphans. It contains seven ayahs and was revealed before the first Hijrah.

The Surah covers a wide range of subjects, including religion, contemporary social challenges, and rituals.

One way to tell whether someone has deep religious views is to see how they treat the poor or how often they pray.

Being Muslims, it is our obligation to feed the poor. The gist of this Quranic commandment is that Allah Almighty will reward you for your generosity. Those who neglect the worthy task will not see the fruits of their labour.

A good starting point is to donate a bucketful of food to the needy. If you are able to afford it, you may also consider giving a sum of money.

The best way to avenge the ills of your past is to give to charity. This is the best way to show your Muslim friends and family that you appreciate their support and their sacrifice.
